Client Feedback on Drainage Modeling Services

We engaged Burnsbridgesweet for the hydraulic modeling of our stormwater network in Lekki Phase 1. The team provided a detailed SWMM simulation that accounted for tidal backwater effects, which was critical for our flood mitigation design. The report aligned perfectly with the Federal Ministry of Water Resources guidelines. After the first month of implementation, the model's predictions matched observed rainfall-runoff data within 5% accuracy. This level of precision is rare in Lagos coastal zones.

Communication during the setup phase was clear and structured. The consultants provided a detailed scope of work for the drainage master plan review, including a timeline for each deliverable. They explained the tradeoffs between using a 1D versus 2D hydraulic model for our specific catchment area. The only delay was in obtaining the latest LiDAR data from the Lagos State Surveyor General, which was outside their control. Overall, a practical and transparent engagement.

This was our second project with Burnsbridgesweet, following a successful drainage compliance audit in 2023. For the current infrastructure upgrade in Ikeja, they revisited our existing model and incorporated new rainfall intensity data from NIMET. The follow-up analysis identified two critical nodes where pipe capacity was insufficient under a 50-year return period storm. Their recommendations for upsizing were backed by clear cost-benefit calculations. A returning client experience that confirms their technical reliability.
